If Lebron losses he's 2/7 in the Finals. He'll be 32 next year. He may still have another shot or two at a ring, but considering past failures, I think a loss this year officially puts a nail in the coffin of MJ comparisons (and looks really bad in Kobe comparisons).
If Curry wins, he'll have back-to-back MVPs and back-to-back championships. Does that make him the new player that gets Jordan comparisons? The biggest thing that may hold Curry back is age - he'll be 29 years old next season.
If the Warriors 3 peat....
Curry 3x MVP/Champion
Jordan 3x MVP/Champion
A few things he'll be shy on though...
Jordan was: 3x Finals MVP, 1x DPOY, 6x All Defensive 1st team....
So does Curry start getting the MJ comparison with a Warriors win. Does he have a realistic chance of catching him like Lebron had over the last 10 years?
No. He's the best shooter, not the best player. He also disappears way too often in the playoffs. It's really surprising to me how many people actually believe he's a better player than Lebron.

Do you think he could get enough accolades to eventually be ranked higher than Lebron?
After this year, it could be...
Curry - 2x champ/2x MVP
Lebron - 2x champ/4x MVP
If Curry goes on to 3-peat/win MVP next year - that would be a period of domination that Lebron never reached.
That's a big if. Don't you think San Antonio will have something to say about that? Curry is a great shooter. He occasionally gets some nice layups too. But I don't see anything else in his game that impresses me the way Lebron is so well rounded. He did have a few steals vs. Durant in game 6, but I could have been playing for GSW and gotten those steals. He has more talent around him (I think). I think you'd say Iguodala+Green+Thompson etc. > Irving+Love, but not sure.
I remember Curry completely disappearing for 2 games in the finals last year, which is not what I think of in a "greatest player ever." Without Iguodala (and Lee) bailing him out, he would have lost to a depleted Cavaliers squad.
With all the young fans with little knowledge showing up on the forum this time of year with their newly minted GS etc. jerseys you have to just accept some amount of stupid stuff.
Curry is great, but has one heckuva team behind him.
Ironically, we heard post after post about how deep and awesome GS was (and they are right) but now suddenly it's Curry? Um no.
Curry is top 5 in the NBA right now.
Lebron has been consensus #1 for many many years.
Curry will be the best shooter in NBA history. He will shatter Ray Allen's 3-point record, and Klay Thompson may follow suit.
But LeBron is still the best all-around player, even though his outside shooting has gotten worse.
