Aloha! Looks like we are on our way! Does anyone have moving company experience to share from East coast to Big Island?
Any mistakes to learn from?
We are so excited, but our heads are spinning co-ordinating this move.
Thanks for any help!

Aloha,
I live in Western NY and am in the process of moving to the BI also. How much stuff are you bringing out? I have gotten quotes from Matson, AFB. and have been waiting for 3 weeks for my quote from Horizon..... Pods do not go to the BI only to HNL . What part of the BI are you going to? Also when are you planning to make the big move? I can quote you prices from here but it will be different than Long Island.

We are really not bringing much, our bedroom set, king size, couple of tvs, personal stuff, photos, clothes, maybe a car.
I have heard of Matson and Horizon, not AFB?
We like the waikoloa area and hope to be there in about 2 months.
When is your move taking place?
Any pets to deal with? We have a cat and I have the International Health Certificate just about ready.
We are getting our ducks in a row and we should be on our way soon!

AFB is like pods 6'x7'x8' my cost is $3,900 each pod . Matson will let you put a car in the container but they will add $1072.00 and thats the price from long beach Ca. to Hawaii.
We have a dog she jut started the quarantine on Tue.

You do not need an International Health Certificate if coming from another U.S. state to Hawaii (Hawaii is part of the United States).

You will need all the proper Hawaii paperwork and test, AND have it all done to their strict requirements! One screwup can mean your cat sits 120 days in confined quarantine.

International health certificate is just the name of the document needed to pass through quarantine.

LOL ya its going to work out that way! They wanted us out there Aug 1 but with the dog and selling the house we just didnt know if we could do it.
We will go out in Aug to look at houses and all that stuff. Have you looked at the regs. for your pet to get it out that soon?
