I am considering relocating from Houston to Tuscaloosa and have been able to find little about the schools. I am in an exemplary school district and am seeking such a district in Tuscaloosa. Does such a district exist in Tuscaloosa?

Well, there's only two choices for public education in Tuscaloosa. Tuscaloosa City Schools if you live inside the city limits of Tuscaloosa, and Tuscaloosa County Schools if you live outside (but within Tuscaloosa County). Is there some information that you were looking for that isn't on greatschools.org (or similar websites)?

I am interested in knowing how Tuscaloosa's school district ranks nationally.

I doubt it merit's any ranking. Overall, the district is pretty mediocre. However, the Northridge HS sub-district is probably the highest rated.

We too are considering the move to Tuscaloosa and accepting positions at UA. We are leaning toward Northport Elementary & Huntington Place right now. Northport Elem isn't ranked yet on Greatschools . There is very little information on that school, but from what i can gather, Northport Elem is the new school K-2 school and Huntington just became 3-5. Huntington Place has the highest ranking for Elementary schools in the area
