There seems to be an increased amount of Tesla cars on the roads lately. Did they open a dealership, that I am unaware of? I see at least 3 each day, and they don't appear to be duplicates.

No, but the number of them on the road increases with every day, so that isn't to be unexpected.

On my commute, there are two Teslas that I see on a pretty regular basis. Not that many, but more than I saw a few years ago.

With the model 3 production beginning, you will see more Teslas (and other BEVs/PHEVs) on the road in coming years.

Most people won't be buying these expensive varieties of battery-operated vehicles. No one I know has traded in their Tahoe or 5 Series to jump on the Tesla fire hazard.

The problem isn't with the market. It's with the arcane laws in the state of Alabama. Currently, how Tesla sells is considered to be -- get this -- "an unfair and deceptive trade practice."

I think it has more to do with the market than the law. Anyone who is serious about plunking down 75k+ on a new Tesla will do it. Alabama (and other) states that don't have a showroom nearby is an inconvenience.

The batteries don't perform well in extreme temperatures. The cars were made mainly for the West Coast market, where the batteries perform best. They need recharging more often in hot climates, or snow. They're delicate snowflakes, like their inventor.

But that wasn't the original question. He wanted to know if there was a Tesla dealership in Alabama and I gave him an article why that wasn't the case.

Thank you...I was trying to figure out how we got off track. I was just wondering. I just saw another one this morning, but I believe that I have seen this one before. It was a white crossover model.

I've seen a couple of them around. Heck, if we had any kind of incentives in Alabama, I'd consider one. A friend of mine in Seattle has two. After all the subsidies, they were relatively affordable. Of course, you do have to install a charging station at your home to the tune of about $1100 to accommodate it.
