A tree on the property line fell in my neighbor's yard. My insurance and a neighborhood attorney say I'm not responsible (not even sure it was on my side). But I'd like to offer money to help replace some bushes the tree took out. What would be an appropriate amount?

So it seems to some extent if a live tree falls and causes damage, that is considered an "act of god" and the damaged party has to cover the losses.

But it's an entirely different situation if the tree is dead or has dead sections.

It is nice that you want to help your neighbor out!
