I'm guessing "Sweet Home Alabama" is the most famous one in which Birmingham is mentioned (not in the title though).

Since we've started including songs that merely mention Bham, Chuck Berry's "Promised Land" is an all-time classic:

I left my home in Norfolk, Virginia, California on my mind /
I straddled that Greyhound and rode him into Raleigh and on across Caroline /
We had motor trouble that turned into a struggle halfway across Alabam' /
Well, that 'hound broke down and left us all stranded in downtown Birmingham

Right away, I bought me a thorough train ticket right across Mississippi clean /
I was on that midnight flyer out of Birmingham, Smokin' into New Orleans /
Somebody help me get out of Louisiana, just help me get to Houston town /
There are people there who care a little about me
And they won't let the poor boy down

I'm not from Birmingham, and I know it's an old thread, but I'm surprised that no one mentioned "Hello LA, Bye-bye Birmingham", sung by Nancy Sinatra.

I think that Blue Cheer (60s-70s rock band), Mac Davis, and John Marr also recorded it.

I'm not completely sure if those other versions are the same song, though. Because that's quite a wide variety of styles for these bands/singers.
