Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Entering Our New Season

Posted 11-05-2023 at 10:52 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

In Song of Solomon 2, the Lover (Jesus) is wooing His Beloved to a new place in verse 10, "Rise up, my beloved, my fair one, and come away," he invites.
He then goes on to declare that "the winter is past…the flowers are springing up, and the time of singing birds has come…the fig trees are budding, and the grapevines are in blossom," and then he repeats his invitation for her to arise and come away with him (Song of Solomon 2:13).

November 5, 2023 - Exhortation

Posted 11-05-2023 at 09:51 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

If there is luke-warmness, you have to take responsibility for it. It's not always the church's fault. You've got to STIR YOURSELF UP by asking, seeking, and knocking (Matthew 7:7) until you come to understand God’s purpose for your life so you can start bearing fruit that remains for His Kingdom here on earth.

Marching upon the path of God’s purpose for your life is similar to pumping spiritual iron. Each time you wield the sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6), which is the word of...

Our Potential To Advance His Kingdom

Posted 11-04-2023 at 11:42 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Colossians 3:3 - "For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

Paul informs us that God hid our abundant life in Christ. Where is Jesus? Answer: seated at the right hand of the Father, in heavenly places. (Ephesians 1:20) Our abundant life is in our Christ anointing that we received when we became born again. And only faith can make the withdrawals.

Faith was never intended only to get us into the family. Faith sees. It brings our potential...

Pursuing Breakthrough

Posted 11-04-2023 at 11:19 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

1 Chronicles 14:11 -- "So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, 'God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.' Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim [meaning Master of Breakthrough]."

Breakthrough is the result that occurs after you have allowed God to change you. You have repented of your sins and they are no longer holding you down and making you weak in your battle against...

The Power Of Our Decree

Posted 11-04-2023 at 11:03 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Job 22:28 - "You will also decree a thing, and it will be established for you; and light will shine on your ways."

We can see from several passages of Scripture the power of our decree. The people of God will receive their breakthrough by what they decree, decide on a matter and declare prophetically for breakthrough in the area of their need.

A decree is based on our decisions. In addition, angels only respond to God's Word and are sent to carry out His will...
