Going to church, reading the bible, listening to Christian music will not advance your spiritual life. These activities may give you more understanding but until you are ready to lay down your life and take up your cross this leads nowhere.

What I am talking about is the sacrifice of self to advance the cause of Jesus Christ in the world. There is a destiny that God had for each of us that only we can personally discover. We can discover it only by detaching from the world and making ourselves available for the Holy Spirit. By detaching from the world--now you have time--the commodity that most Christians are not willing to give.

Jesus said, "Self-help is not help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, to finding yourself, your true self. (Matthew 16:25)

"God has planted eternity in the human heart." (Ecclesiastes 3:11)

"Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God." (Luke 9:62)

"The most important thing is that I complete my mission, the work that the Lord Jesus gave me." (Acts 20:24)

"We have been sent to speak for Christ." (2 Corinthians 5:20)

"We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (Ephesians 2:10)

Scripture Of The Day – January 10, 2024

Posted 01-10-2024 at 06:49 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"My Father is working until now, and I Myself am working." (John 5:17)

We work and partner with what he is already doing in Heaven. The father works in heaven, and we work with the Holy Spirit on earth. "So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he "sees" the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise."

Once we discern our calling in Christ, we...

Revealing The Light Of Eternity

Posted 01-09-2024 at 10:40 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

When Jesus went up the mountain with three of His disciples, he was transfigured or altered from His human state to a glorified one (Matthew 17:1-9). It was a fearful moment of splendor as the Son of Man revealed His heavenly identity and manifested His glory in human form.

HIS BRILLIANCE WOULD BE EXPOSED AGAIN

Jesus declares to His disciples "Tell the vision to no one until the Son of Man is risen from the dead." (Matthew 17:2). This was indicating that there...

January 9, 2024 – Exhortation

Posted 01-09-2024 at 06:51 PM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

"'Come,' He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus…" Matthew 14:29

Are you feeling the pull to step out of your comfort zone?

This pull is from God, as He's inviting you outside of your norm. It could be something you are scared to do. God is leading you to trust Him in your discomfort.

If you're feeling stretched, like you're coming up against uncomfortable situations, or like God is inviting you...

Albert Finch Ministry - Daily Devotional – January 9, 2024

Posted 01-09-2024 at 10:01 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

Proverbs 24:16 - "For a righteous man falls seven times and rises again, But the wicked stumble in time of calamity."

Some people keep going when life is difficult, but others park at the point of their pain. They decide to stay where they are instead of pressing through the difficulties.

Those who are hungry and thirsty will be satisfied. It's time to drink the living water of life and begin to release healing on the earth. Creation is groaning (Romans 8:19,...

We Are Complete In Him

Posted 01-09-2024 at 02:02 AM by Albert Finch (How Do I Advance My Spiritual Life?)

And He said to them all, "If any man will [willingly choose to] come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me." Luke 9:23

Each of us who desires to personally know and serve the Lord must first make this life-changing decision to "take up our cross." When we willingly do this, we submit ourselves to seeking and pursuing our Christ calling.

If we accept this challenge ("If anyone will come after Me"), the...
