Just wondering if I can ask about people's experience with some of the local apartment complexes. We need a small-ish apartment (2BR 1BA) that allows pets, preferably furnished. This will be for 3-5 months while he hunt for a house to buy and drag through all the buying processes. All our household stuff is in storage and won't come until we have a house, which is why we prefer furnished.

Now, from going through CraigsList and other online sources, there appears to be quite a few apartments for rent that allow pets, but the furnished places dont.

Do any of you local folks know of any furnished apartments that do short-term leases (3-5 months) and allow pets (two Yorkies about 6-8 lbs each)?

If not, then we'll just get an unfurnished and spend our spare time chasing down CraigsList leads to find the basic needs until we find a home.

Are there any complexes that should be avoided? (We're newly retired folks who would prefer to avoid the "party hearty til the sun comes up" sort of apartment complexes, but aren't quite ready for the "home for the bewildered" either.

Not looking for an apartment in any particular area because we don't even know where in the metro area we'll live.

Seems like every real estate agent we used owned 1-2 rental properties, so we just rented from our realtor for 4 months until we bought something. Ask your real estate agent or have them ask around their office.

Because CDF has run into issues with negative comments being viewed akin to a "consumer complaint" board, people with specific negative data should message you directly...

Thanks, Sage... It took me a minute to realize what CDF was, until I looked at the top of the page! I can understand why they wouldn't want a bunch of negative stuff on here.

Cheers,

Mac
