Hi All-
Been studying this board for quite some time! Finally decided to post a question.
I'm trying to get an idea of what a monthly budget would look like. Please take a few minutes to share what you currently pay each month in the Boise area. I have created a list below, just copy & respond if possible, feel free to add anything I may have missed.
I know this will be super helpful to all of us looking to make the Boise area home!
Thanks in advance!

Your City: Boise
Home size: (bedrooms or sq ft): 2 bedrooms, about 1250 square feet townhouse
Water/sewer: I'm on Capital Water, which is nonmetered, so around $16 winter/$32 summer. Sewer is $42 every 3 months
Power: I would say around $75 average, obviously higher in summer and lower in winter. We only have 2 people, and keep our lights off most of the time, but we have a lot of electronics on at all times, so this may be higher than average for others in a house our size.
Natural Gas: I would say around $50 average, opposite of power, summer bills are extremely low (under $10)
Telephone: No home line, both cell phones are "dumb". Hubby's is $30ish/month, mine is prepaid, so only $100/year
Cable/internet: approx $120/month
Garbage: Approx $15/month
Other: None
My husband has paid the bills for the last few years, so I don't know exact amounts anymore, but these are in the ballpark.
We also do property management, and I call tell you that in Meridian, sewer/water/trash are all on one bill and the average amount is $60-80/month for those three combined if the property is on pressurized irrigation for the yard watering.
Your City: Boise
Home size: (bedrooms or sq ft): 2 bedrooms
Water: United Water: $35 every two months in the winter; $80 every two months in the summer.

Natural Gas: None.

Live in Boise in about 1600 square feet. Utilities are cheap compared to other places I have lived. What helps is having a husband who makes sure everything is insulated well. This is a new house, well built and he even went into the crawl space and made sure all the pipes are covered. He adjusts blinds to make use of the sun or blocks as needed. We turn down the heat at night. It all helps. I have seen a reduction in bills each time he has done this to our homes.
