There is a permeating attitude among younger Americans these days that they don't want anything at all to do with religion, especially Christianity, specifically Christians who aren't in the closet with their faith. Even down here in the "Bible Belt" where I currently live, I'm starting to get snide comments when people see my large family pray before a meal in a restaurant. We have 8 kids and we get Mormon comments all of the time. We're Catholic. I guess government schools stopped teaching the Constitution and people believe they have freedom from religion these days. I guess so called "Christian" idiots like Fred Phelps don't help our case but you know how it goes: The squeaky wheel gets the grease.
On a daily basis out in town, not much. I'm not religious and I would even say that if anything, the LDS presence is actually pretty positive (or can be).
However, when it comes to state and local politics, it can get downright annoying, oppressive, backwoods and ridiculous for a lot of people in all sorts of policy areas.
I'd rather live in a neighborhood full of Mormons than one full of Bam voters.
They're nice people in general, however not very welcoming of us "heathens".
Plus I guess it's hard for me to respect them.
They believe in a religion that's provably false.
That makes them kind of...well...stupid.
Not too different from the Bam voters I suppose.

I am an atheist so ALL religions seem retarded to me. However, I love my fellow Mormons for the family values that they strongly practice. They are not fake, they practice "family" 24/7.
I like the Mormon family values to, but I don't want to be a Mormon. I not into religion.
but I was raise a Catholic.
Yep, I was raised a Baptist...want nothing to do with that or any other God fearing cult, but I do appreciate the dedication to family. I think they might have too many family members, but other than that I wish I could pull off that much agreed upon caring in my family. Seems like everyone is to busy.

I'd give you and your family a thumbs up if we were in the same restaurant at the same time. I bet your kids are well behaved out too.
