I totally agree with what others have said. Our crime is remarkably low here, but anything that DOES happen is big news.
Other cities of our size, only the worst stuff makes the news. Sometimes, there will be too many of what I would call "big crimes" to all fit on the front page. In Boise, something like a house fire or a car accident will often make the front page, because it was the biggest thing that happened for the day. Right now on the Statesman page, 0 of the "Top Stories" (there are 13 of them) are crime related.
