The income inequality has only intensified since then, so it makes sense that more and more Californians would want to move out whether they're part of the haves or the have-nots. It's also worth noting that I haven't run into any real estate agents or builders or any other business people here that have voiced any complaint about the increase in population due to outsiders of any sort moving into the area. It's a safe bet that this influx has served to increase their business profits, especially for real estate transactions.

George,

Have you noticed the greedy acquisitive parasites in Boise yet? I saw in a comment in another thread that a lot of developers from California have found and targeted Boise. I don't want to move somewhere that is an endless sea of generic suburbia.

Newsflash - Idahoans have to sell to "parasites". Takes two to tango. Boise has had generic suburbia before Californians started arriving. It is called suburbia. A more recent happening in the area is "Mediterranean" homes - now I'm sure this is catered to Californians.

Not necessarily. Nevada, Arizona, Colorado...all have a great number of subdivisions that are "Mediterranean" in nature, and all have people from those states moving here. Overdone look imo.
