Anybody out there commute from Boise and work in Caldwell? Clearly this would be against traffic, but sometimes even when you try "dry run commutes" on a visit you might get a good or bad day. Any thoughts from regulars on I-84? Thanks.
I lived in Boise and commuted to Nampa for approximately 4 years and never had any real problems (of course I was working from 3:30PM-Midnight). Even working a regular day shift though the commute would probably take about 40-45 minutes (depending on which Caldwell exit you took and how close your work is to the freeway). During winter it could be a very long tedious haul if the roads have snow/ice though.
I live in Meridian and commute to Caldwell for work. I don't get on the freeway until Garrity, so I avoid the heavy traffic between Meridian Road and Garrity. I leave for work around 6:35 and get to work by 7pm. In the snowy times, I have to add extra time and try to leave around 6ish. Once you get past Karcher it thins out tremendously. Coming from Boise, you commute would increase a lot due to the construction after Eagle.
Smart move, live in Boise and commute West...opposite of traffic, better nightlife (slightly).
