I just finished Stay Close today, the latest of several of his books I've read. With the exception of his Myron Bolitar series, I have really enjoyed everything by him that I've read.
Didn't discover him until a few yrs ago but think I've read them all now! Stay Close was especially good.

My first was Hold Tight and I read it while deployed to Afghanistan in 2009. It was just laying around in a "take one, leave one" box. Best random selection I've ever made!
That's a very good point. I think one of the reasons I like him so much is his characters are so real and it is easy to identify with them. Just about all of his "mom and dad" characters more or less describe someone you know (or think you know ).
I was proud of myself because I figured out Stay Close a little past halfway through. Usually the hook is a complete surprise, even when you know it's coming.
I recently started reading him. Read "Caught" and am now on "Tell No One". Not bad, but I think Lehane is a much better writer in the same genre. Maybe because I lived in Boston for awhile and can relate better to Lehane's characters.

I have read quite a few, but do not always remember to get them right away. I started reading because of the Bolitar series...but I like sports, and those offered a great insider look at the industry. I also used to want to be an agent many moons ago.
I guess I need to get stay close, it is time for a new read, and I have reached my non fiction quota.
