Here are a few more you might enjoy. Most of these are epic novels, that tell the stories of several families, over several generations. Some have the story of a romance in the core of the plot, others have one or more couples who are in love with each other as one of the family stories, others don't really have a romance in the central part of the book, but they all tell Epic stories that unwind over several generations.

Canal Town by Samuel Adams Tells the story of a young doctor who is just starting his practice in Palmyra, NY in the early years of the Erie Canal, and what happens when the daughter of the richest man in town becomes pregnant, and the most dashing Canal captain is suspected of being the father.
