I can see why authors are "starving artists" lol everyone wants to read their work. No one wants to pay them for it. May we have a moment of silence for the first amendment.

I have found that most books for free on Kindle are self-published, which frankly, mean that they suck.

Miss-spelled words, books that are only 39 pages long, horrible content...

Nope.

I second Overdrive. You can check out books just like you do in person at your local library. Audio books, too.

Free books are rarely available on sites, you need to sign up and then choose the books. I recommend you the supa library - the online ebook library to read the books online. The collections of books awesome

Bookbub but, booksy try googling for more sites too. Some list the fee ebooks that are on Amazon .com the same day.

The best place I know of to get free books is the local library.

The second-best place is at library books sales on the last day. The books aren't free, but I can fill a bag for a couple of bucks. Some places don't care how large the bag.
