So I've read all of Diane Mott Davidsons, G.A Mckevetts books. I tried reading one of Joana Flukes and Isis Crawfords books, but I dont like their books. I also dont like to read police procedurals. Oh I also read a Carol O'Connell murder mystery which was very good. So can anyone recommend certain books /or authors? Thanks.

Oh boy! Um, I would suggest
  1. More of the Carol O'Connell series
  2. Kathy Reichs
  3. Rick Riordan
  4. Martha Grimes
  5. John Connolly
  6. Christopher Fowler's Peculiar Crimes series (bit of an acquired taste for some as they can be a tad slow, albeit very fun to read)
  7. Nevada Barr
  8. Batya Gur

I would suggest the JP Beaumont series by JA Jance. also, her JoAnna Brady series. both are great! She also has a series that is underway with a character, Ally, that is a Blogger! all are very good. If you like the buddy crime solvers in davidson's books, you will like the character of China Bayles and her sidekick Ruby, buy Susan Wittig Albert. the books all have titles of plants and herbs!

Books by Simon Beckett. I think he has only written 3 so far but they are all fantastic.

Murder mystery novels are my escape books. I've read a lot of authors but Beckett has written the best, IMO.

There are quite a few threads on this subject if you want to do a search on city-data, but here are some of the best-selling authors (& my personal faves) in that genre:
Lisa Gardener
James Patterson
Ridley Pearson
Dennis LeHane
Jonathan Kellerman
Karin Slaughter
Harlan Coben
Happy reading!
