Hello all,

My wife and I will be moving to Boston from New Hampshire in April or May. I would like some guidance regarding realtors that would help us find a rental, specifically in the North End area.

Thus far, my experience with contacting Boston realtors has been dismal - unreturned calls and e-mails, listings that simply do not satisfy even the basic requirements I've asked for, showing up for a viewing wearing a stained white t-shirt and jeans and obviously hungover from the night before (which occurred this past Saturday), and a general unprofessional attitude.

Would anyone have any suggestions for solid rental realtors in the Boston/North End/Charlestown/Beacon Hill/Back Bay areas?

Thanks for your time!

Rental agents are not like sales agents. Its fast moving and there is no exclusivity. Since they get paid commission, many do not like to waste time with "tire kickers" and people who dont know what they want. Sales agents are more patient because they pay off is bigger and the market is slower.

One thing I'd recommend is using an agent located in a specific neighborhood. I've worked as a rental agent for years and know most of the city well and the agencies. Its a trying process, but the logistics of the city make it so.
