Curious, with the Bruins cup win, what are the ranking of popularity in Boston both:

A. Now/today
B. When the dust settles and it's next fall, the foreseeable future

I. In the past decade ranking have been:

Pre-2007:
1) Sox
1A) Pats

3) Celtics

4) B's

II. 2008
1) Sox
1A) Pats

3) Celtics

4) B's

So....
1) Where do the B's/sports teams rank today?
2) What do you expect it to be for the foreseeable future?

I would expect the B's to be fourth since Boston is a Red Sox town first, and the NFL is the most popular sport in the US.
I would expect the C's to be close to the Pats since they have won more titles than anybody plus they all are good teams, and NBA >>> NHL in the US.
I would expect the B's to be last but not by much, all being big.

However, I would not be shocked if the B's are higher.
Questions would be...
How much more popularity are the B's than C;s (are the B's now 1C or 2 or 3A)...are the C's 4th or 1D/2B/3B?

Give your rankings.
I just find it hard to believe an NBA team that is a contender would be 4th in town, given they have THE MOST titles of all time.
IF this is the case, I mean does Boston just hate the NBA/basketball, what gives? Or is this a product of having a highly white, undiverse, city?

THIS IS MULTIPLE CHOICE, VOTE FOR AS MANY AS YOU WISH/FEEL ARE APPROPRIATE.

Honestly, the sox will always continue winning, and be in the playoff hunt each year, and the pats should be a good team for atleast the next 5 years (I'm a jets/yanks fan) and they will always be number 1 and 2.

With the Cs and Bs... The Cs may be good next year, but after that they could really drop off. Say they have a few years of non-playoff basketball, and the Bs continue to win, and are in the Cup discussion every year during that time, they could take over the 3rd spot. TV ratings are already suggesting that.

Right now they are 3 behind the Red Sox and Patriots. I do agree like you mentioned the Red Sox are 1 and the Patriots are 1A, right behind. The bruins could have the advantage going forward because they are a young team with a great core group of players. Tim Thomas is a little old and I believe Recchi is retiring, but they keep a lot intact. The celtics are getting quite old and the eastern conference is going to be tough for them with the Miami Heat and the Bulls.

Well, are the B's 3 and Celtics 4, or 3A 3B or neck and neck?
