It would be dark in the morning, yes. (Though it starts getting bright a little before sunrise)

I’d prefer light in the evening to light in the morning. Maybe that’s just me.

We had Daylight savings though the Winter back in the 1970s .Schools, starting at 7am in the dark, had problems with students being clipped by drivers on their way to work, which had the associated problems of road closers .
The result was doing away with the winter DST.

I'm the opposite. I have a hard time dragging my butt out of bed when it's dark.
