Does anyone know this section of Roslindale? If so, could you share with me what you think about it. Not sure if it is a good or bad section. Looks like it is near the West Roxbury line.
It's in a decent area. I'm not sure what you are looking for, but it's pretty safe. There's no real border between West Roxbury & Roslindale, but I would put this in West Roxbury. Washington St is a busy street, with a lot of bus service. Head east a few miles, and it takes you to the 1st stop on the Orange line. About a mile west is the Dedham town line.
Thanks for your prompt reply. I am looking at a townhouse over in that area. I am a single person with no children so schools aren't an issue. I am in early 40's so bar scene is not important either.
Also looking for an easy commute into Boston..if there is such a thing. Probably take the bus to the Orange line.
lots of fire and police and city workers live in the Roslindale, West Roxbury area. Also the bus and T into Boston sure does beat the drive and parking.
The West Roxburt parkway is right near Centre Street, and the lines between
Roslindale, and West Roxbury is not even something you notice.
Wonderful...sounds perfect...now I just need a job. Also I need to wait for my current lease to run out (Feb. 08), and save some money for the long distance move.
Don't forget the commuter rail to Back Bay & South Station -- there are 3 stops in West Roxbury and 1 in Roslindale--takes 15-20 minutes and is really easy. (Needham Heights line)
That line of the commuter rail doesn't run on Sundays, but there are plenty of buses that run all day and will take you to Forest Hills, where you can catch the subway to downtown.
