Hey y'all,
So here's the situation: Hubs is moving to Cambridge this Saturday with car #1. The kids and I are joining him there (from TX) at a future time tbd (when house sale closes) with car #2. We are both listed on both car titles.

Will he be able to convert car #1's registration and title by himself soon after he gets there? Or will he need to wait for me to show up? Or can I sign the car #1 title here in TX before he goes, and he can finish the converting process there?

Some states require all this signing business to take place in front of a notary, some don't, and our online search of the MA mrv has been fruitless.

THANK YOU in advance!

You don't need a notary to sign a title in MA. So you shouldn't run into any problems if you sign in TX. The only thing I can think of is that there may be additional forms that you both need to sign. Check the RMV website for any title transfer forms and fill them out before going to the RMV.

I believe the RMV has a customer service number if you have any questions.
