Does anyone know if Quincy Market and Downtown Crossing shops are open Christmas Day?

Also, are the restaurants open Christmas Day?

Some restaurants will be open, however I likely not the ones in Quincy Market. Chinatown is a good bet on Christmas.

Almost all shops will be closed.

MA blue laws severely restrict retail stores being open on Christmas. Some restaurants will be open and the MBTA will run on a Sunday schedule. The city will be very very quiet. It's a good day to see a movie and go to Chinatown but not much else to be honest.

That's what most of my Jewish friends do. The others volunteer at a soup kitchen on Christmas day.

Some restaurants are open; almost all hotel ones are. Make a reservation for those. Chinatown restaurants will be busy.

Some bars are open--you can usually find a list closer to December of those.

You'll find the odd convenience store open, but no, I wouldn't count on going shopping that day.

Downtown Crossing will likely be deserted and not much is going to be open aside from CVS. As for restaurants in the area, McCormick & Schmick's in Quincy Market is open.

The Celtics will host the Washington Wizards at the TD Garden for ABC’s 5:30 pm game on Christmas day this year. I would therefore expect that the North Station and nearby Quincy Market areas may see more businesses open this Christmas because of the Celtics game.
