This doesn't have anything to do with Boston or MA, but I found this on Boston.com:

Burlington VT's homicide rate has gone up a lot. I wonder what's going on there. Drugs?

I am dying to know the deal with the 4 dead babies in Southie.
One of my neighbor's kids was on the forensics team that initially went in to that apartment and found the 1st one in the freezer. Aparently, the woman's niece was the one who called in the police. The apartment resident is a 67 year old woman who has dementia and no longer lives there. At that time, the police suspected they would find more bodies.

Another creepy detail is that all over the place were figurines that featured frozen babies or children.

Wow. That sounds bizarre. Figurines of frozen babies ? I'm guessing they might never get to the bottom of this unless someone decides to tell the story.

WBZ radio says "suspect is described as a white man in his 30s."

Hmmm...I wonder why they mentioned his race when most news or crime reports I happen to encounter don't often mention race.

Would another race have been mentioned in this or a similar story by WBZ and other local or national outlets?

What a shame. I haven't visited there in over 20 years, but enjoyed my few brief visits over the years.

I recall back then a local telling me Rutland about 45 miles south (?) was having issues then with gangs and such from out of state. Seemed back then that Burlington was able to escape major issues...but seemingly not now. Hmm...

Yeah it sounds complex. Maybe they get their fair share of illegals from Canada ? I know they have there fair share of drug trafficking issues . It's just kind of a random far away city from the rest of New England so I don't think the gangs of Boston and nyc head there frequently. No where is safe from nasty humans these days I guess.

Um, it's 5 in an entire year and two were a domestic violence murder suicide of students.

I don't think they had one the last two years. It's hardly dangerous

3 is still a lot for a city that size, in Vermont.
