Boston used to be known for having alot of comedy clubs and open mic nights. What happened? Seems there are only maybe 9-10 or so that I could find that are still open and have open mic nights. Boston, oh! Boston...what the heck happened to you?

There seem to be more in the 'burbs than in the city.

Dane Cook must have ruined them all. Seriously, that guy is not funny at all.

Not sure what happened, but I know they will have comedy nights in different places throughout MA, but they are sometimes hard find.

And to think, a mere 5 years ago Boston was one of THE places after NY, LA and Chicago. How this economy has changed things...my oh my! Must be hard times in Boston now.
Dane Cook is not funny, but somehow his age group seems to just love him. I don't get it either? He's cute but not funny.

I'm 29 and know many people who think Dane Cook is funny. They gave me his cd once about 5 years ago and I listened to it in my car not knowing at the time who it was. Well, I listened to about 25 minutes and didn't laugh once.

Any similarity netween Dane Cook and comedy is purely coincidental.

As for comedy clubs, they're not the draw that they used to be. Nowadays with the internet, you can view all sorts of comedy bits, especially video clips. And that's free.
