Hello everyone, I need your help to complete a budget for my move to Boulder. I know there are variables all over the place, but I just need your feedback so I can get a rough estimate. We are a family of four, so please when answering include your family size so I can include that in my calculations.

I need to know: Average natural gas/ propane monthly expense, Water/ garbage/ sewage expense, and health insurance expenses (I know these will vary with several factors, again just trying to get a ballpark as I am transitioning out of the military so I have yet to pay for healthcare). Any other information you want to provide about living in the area (best internet service providers, something people from out of state should know before moving there, etc.) will also be appreciated! Thank you!

We are also a family of 4 in a ~2000 sq ft house.
Our gas bill is folded with electric, Xcel Energy supplies both. Our gas/electricity bill is $100-120 during the winter month. Then it goes down to 70-80 during spring. In summer it's back to 110-120 because of AC. We don't use it a lot, as the nights are always cool and we sleep with our windows open all summer long. I still like it for hot days, though.

Garbage is $60/quarter and it is based on the size of your bin - there are 3 sizes to choose from. I'm not sure if Boulder proper has the same garbage service - I am just east of town and Western Disposal picks up our trash.

Water is 70-80/month.

There are only two internet service providers that I'm aware of - Comcast for cable and Century Link over DSL. Both are pretty bad . I have Comcast, and they've been better lately. My cable bill is $74 on the promotion (which you have to get out of them every year) and it include basic cable that I never watch, and high speed internet - the plan is for 25 Mbps, just got 180Mbps download, 12 Mbps on upload with a speed test. There a plans with a higher speed, but what I have works for me - no problems working from home, streaming etc.

No idea about insurance - we are insured through my work.
