Boxing has been famous for its nicknames and there have been some great ones and some not so great ones.

What are some of your favourites? And your not so favourites...

I think my favourite all-time nickname was James Smith's nickname 'Bonecrusher'.

If you ask someone who even follows boxing closely about James Smith they will probably hesitate. But instead ask about 'Bonecrusher' Smith and they will know straight away who you are talking about.

My absolute favourite of all time was Mike "THE BODYSNATCHER" McCallum.

Needless to say, Mike McCallum mastered the art of making his opponents succumb to his barrage of body punches.

Frankly, I often wonder if modern day boxers hone the skills of surgically aggressing the body as McCallum did.

"Work the body and the head will fall."

The Bodysnatcher was another of my favourites.

Mastering big body shots is as much about training as it is natural skill. There are some very ordinary boxing trainers out there and some are training fighters who should be looking elsewhere for a far better level of tuition.
