We'd love to learn about family-friendly activities for wee ones (we've got a one year old) - and also ways to meet other parents in the area to hang out/grab a beer with!
There is a group that spun off from the welcome wagon a few years ago that has activities for Mom's with little ones. They use space in one of the old schools. It is called the Nixon Center, after a local person not the failed President. Perhaps if you googled it you could find more detailes.
PLAYGROUPS
meet at the Donald O. Nixon Resource Center, 301 Michigan Street, Lockport. Hours are Monday and Friday, from 9:30am-noon, and Wednesdays, from 9:30am to 2:30pm. The playgroups are from prenatal to age five. The rooms are equipped with many toys, ball pit, bikes, baby area, music area, dolls, computers, and many other developmentally appropriate toys. Monday is fitness day and Wednesdays feature circle time. Anyone is welcome to attend FREE of charge. For more information, call Michelle at 716-439-4778.
