Hi, I am currently living in Indiana but I am contemplating moving to Buffalo, NY. I have a B.S. in Health Services but I plan on applying to an Occupational Therapy Assistant program by Buffalo. Are there job opportunities for someone with a B.S. in Health Services? I live in a small town now and I have not been lucky in finding any jobs. The reason I began looking at Buffalo is because of the OTA program and because Buffalo seems to have more opportunity for me. I would love to be able to find a job in the health field while I complete my schooling.

Buffalo would be a good choice. The health services field is expanding and there are some good programs at the local colleges

Apply to the program, get accepted and then get a job. You may not find one immediately in your field, but after you are done with the OTA program, it should improve your options. And.. you will have the OTA done.

If you already have a BS in Health Sciences, wouldn't you be able to apply at least some of your course work to a BS in Occupational Therapy? OTA is only 2 year Associates degree. It's very popular at the community college where I work (in the Southern Tier) because of the high placement rate for grads.

There are a lot of jobs in the health care/health sciences job in Buffalo and surrounding area.
