Its nice to dream, but it will never happen. Buffalo will be lucky to get a few "improvements" to New Era Field.

Lets look at the major infrastructure:

Peace Bridge: 1925
New Era Field: 1973
Convention Center: 1978
KeyBank Center: 1996
Buffalo Public Library: 1964

The only "newer, less than 20 years, old is the home of the Sabres" who are one of the worst teams in the NHL.

@ The NFL Meetings @ the Biltmore the NFL & NFL owners are waiting for the Stadium studies to come back and when the Pegula's hand the bill to Erie County their waiting to see if Erie County will provide the funding. Plan B is Austin/San Antonio which has private funding lined up and will build a New stadium and in the mean time would use the Alamo Dome once a NFL team is secured, Also London already has a New Stadium already built waiting for a NFL team and Honolulu is buildings a new Football Stadium, St Louis is securing private funding for a new Stadium

The Pegulas live down here in Florida. He is one of the wealthiest NFL owners and if Erie County and NYS don't pony up for a new stadium he can just move the team elsewhere. The lease ends in 2023 and the county would be happy to throw a few million at the old dinosaur. Buffalo needs a new stadium downtown to really revitalize the area. Don't you Buffalonians ever get tired of being a second class city and always settling for 2nd best?

Who lost again Tuesday? The Sabres did.

a complete rebuild of the Stadium going to cost between $1.2 Billion & $1.5 Billion. a new Downtown Stadium would cost $2 Billion to $2.5 Billion and that's today prices and everyday the prices will climb

Is there even enough of an attendance pool that would purchase all the luxury boxes and high end seats that a new/upgraded stadium would put it? Or would they just price out the old timers that have been supporting the team all along? Austin which someone mentioned has more than 3x the population and a strong economy, they could sell the boxes and seats could Buffalo?

To my knowledge St.Louis isn't securing any funds for a NFL stadium that i know of.. Being here in St.Louis theres interest in the game but having a team isn't really worth it anymore 8 regularly season games just isn't justifiable to pony up 1-2 billion for a stadium unless you're expecting endless amounts of usage. One thing i wish the NFL would change is the super bowl setting.. instead of awarding it to a neutral type of setting maybe the team with the best record gets home field advantage and to host the Super Bowl but if that team happens to lose then the team with the next best record in the playoffs get to host the Super Bowl if they advance.. St.Louis is getting a XFL team at no cost to the city but something tells me it'll likely go belly up like the AAF..

You have to keep in mind with Austin that the University of Texas owns the city. Nearby San Antonio, while UTSA is now Division 1, could be a better fit and it already has the Alamo Dome.

With that said, the Bills are really a regional team and the Rochester area also has some people that could/do purchase luxury boxes and high end seats. You may also get that purchase both from other nearby areas as well.

I also think that the stadium aspect also needs to include other events into the mix.

Buffalo already get's beaten out on the luxury boxes. People from Rochester buy the majority. If Buffalo doesn't even have the majority of the high end ticket holders, why are they even in Buffalo?
