Has anybody used Chittenden County Tree Service? Are they reputable? Were you pleased with their work?

Thanks in advance for any comments.

We have used them several times over the past few years for trees in your backyard that needed to go. Good service and quick. We just recommended them last spring for a huge tree that our neighbors needed to have removed and they did a great job with their tree as well.

Thank you for replying.

We've placed a deposit with them, but are still waiting for the trees to be removed.

How much are they charging to remove the trees? I realize the job cost will probably vary but I'm curious.

Update: As of now, we're still waiting to have our trees removed.

Though we were told our trees would be a "priority" for removal, and they'd be taken care of in a "couple of weeks", we've now been waiting all summer, and we still don't know when they'll be taken down.

We've been patient until now, but it's becoming a concern, since we gave the company a rather large deposit.

If they hadn't asked for a deposit, we would have assumed they'd just get around to us when they got around to us, but they did get a deposit, which, in my opinion, meant that they'd be taking care of our job in a much more timely manner.

We've been told several times this summer that we were "next on the list", but nobody has come here to remove the trees yet.

j_jimerino, the price we were quoted was quite a bit less than the estimate we received from DJ's Tree Service, if that helps.

I spoke, again, with the tree service owner this morning, and he promises we'll be taken care of soon.

If by some chance, they do come and take care of our trees within the next few days, I'll try to remember to come update this post with either a positive or negative note, in case there are others who are looking for a tree service.

That sounds pretty ridiculous. I think I'll stay away. I would have demanded my deposit back at this point. Frankly, I don't understand why they need a deposit for a service in the first place.

I too would get the deposit back. With the recent storms I'm sure they are charging top dollar to sort that out first and you're even further down the list. I do have the name of one guy but he only trimmed our trees so I wouldn't want to recommend him for removal in case anything happened!

Default A positive note

Here's the note I said I'd leave...

After speaking with the owner, they finally did come and remove our trees last week. The owner apologized for it taking so long to get to us.

We're very pleased with the work they did, and would call them again in the future if we have more trees that need to be removed.
