Hi Folks,

I am reseraching how to get health insurance that covers pregnancy for a married couple, one of which is self employed person and the other a 1099 person. The self employed person has no employees (so no "goup") and the 1099 person, the company does not offer health insurance.

Any advice much appreciated.

Yes ehealth online is the first placed I looked, I talked to 4 different brokers from that website ( made the mistake of putting my phone number in) they all told me there is no way to get pregnancy coverage for the self employed person not in a group. I was told this is something new that came from Obama
.
You must have used the site b/f for this situation to post it as a recommendation, so is there something on the site I am missing?

I think her question was solely so she could complain about healthcare reform in the political forum. She seems to be just setting a backstory. That's probably why she posted it in the business forum and any of the health forums on the internet.

Considering there's a check option for "maternity coverage"...

The reason it's not covered on almost all policies is it's pretty much an expected cost that you can either select it if you're planning on getting knocked up and not if you aren't.
