I got some helpful input on my other thread for marketing ideas for my mobile boat detailing company so now I'm trying to figure out the best way to go about giving references out if requested.
I keep reading on assorted forums for any kind of contractor labor that references should be requested before choosing a particular contractor.
If asked, what is usually required? A name and phone number or e-mail address?
I personally don't like the idea of giving out other peoples phone numbers/e-mail without permission.
So would I just ask all future customers if they mind me giving out their name and number or e-mail to other potential customers for a reference if requested?
I have a good reputation with the marinas, marina stores and other captains so should I just mention that?
Just trying to see the best way to go about this if/when someone asks the question "do you have any references?".
