Allright. I'm taking advice I was given on another Thread I started. Its career advice. Currently I'm not where I want to be and I'm pretty sure the only way to get there is to go back to school. I'm looking to obtain a degree in business. My question is...will an associates degree get me anywhere or would it be a waste of time? Should I go straight for a bachelors? And I'm not allergic to work, so if i could obtain the degree and work my way up thats fine with me. Another factor with going back to college is money. Does anyone have advice on where to look for grants? Or anything that could help financially? Thanks to anyone that has useful information.

You're probably going to need at least a BBA if you want employers to look at your resume, but you will still need to have a specialized focus.

Look at the wage for those jobs before you go that route.

Pretty much every state has a few tiers of colleges -- the tuition and reputation of the top tier schools are generally a lot greater than those in the middle or lower rungs, but if you goal is to simply to "get the sheepskin on the cheap" the lower rung schools might be a good option.

An "associates" degree is not coming from a four year institution but typically from a community college, it might make sense to get some kind of vocational training, especially in something related to health care...

Also not real sure why some one would want a "business degree" when it generally PAYS MUCH BETTER and is MUCH EASIER to get a some kind of health care related job. There are some colleges that specifically offer a path for those that have earned a associates in some health care related field to earn a
bachelors degree, sometimes you don't even have to be on campus -- https://hs.boisestate.edu/respcare/completion/

Other areas also pay very well -- MRI Technologist Salary | Indeed.com http://www.innerbody.com/careers-in-...-mri-tech.html

OP said he wanted the ability to move up, which isn't going to happen with an associates in accounting.

Find a new or growing product that you can source cheap. Go out and sell it!!!

You're not gonna' find a cheaper or BETTER way to get a business education. Forget the degree. There are thousands of unemployed people with multiple degrees, one of them being a biz degree, who can't find a job!

The people with a degree still have a much lower unemployment rate and much higher salaries than the people without though.

Oh, well the OP should go get a BS/MS in engineering from MIT, MD/PhD from Harvard University, MBA from Stanford University, and finally a JD from Yale.

That should allow the OP to move up.
