Advertisements

i own a housecleaning business and I'm trying to attract reasonable customers. i currently post on craigslist, although i do get some clients, they do not want to pay anything reasonable and tend to be difficult and want everything done for nothing. what are other places to advertise? Google ads gave me a coupon of $100 and i tried that and did not get any response.

Not my line of work, but if I were you, I would probably look at the Val-Pak coupons or whatever company mass-mails envelopes full of coupons in your area, or maybe try and strike a deal with the local senior communities.

Give discounts to current clients if they refer you to a new client. Network with companies that service the same type of clients you do but sell them something different like a pool guy or a landscaping company. If someone doesn't like to cut their own grass, chances are they don't like to clean their house either.

I used to sell direct mail and believe that it works, but it is rather expensive for a really small business.

The other thing that you may want to do is a vehicle wrap on your car. Turn your car into a rolling billboard.

I can not give any discounts to current clients as I'm already paid at the lowest i can accept. i want to start fresh. i was recently referred by a current client and the new client has been very demanding and doesn't want to pay much. I was thinking about advertising on my car but I don't want anything permanent on my car. What the typical cost for wrapping a car?

I have a friend who has been doing this for about a year. She made up business cards and gave them to her friends and to people at church so they can pass them along to people who may need her service. She also sits with elderly people so their caregivers can get away for errands. I would definitely use her or recommend her because I trust her. Would I want a stranger in my house? Probably not. Good luck!

Giving out business cards is cheap, a website if you don't have one, networking (search meetup.com as a start), stop by office complexes and offer your services.

Newspaper classified ads still work pretty well. Newspaper, not Shoppers Guide or any free publication. Newspapers get much better readership, especially from middle and upper income people.

The last house cleaner I got was from a local real estate group on Facebook. That was also my choice for finding a tenant for my rental. I've tried Craigslist a couple times and wasn't happy with the results at all. I got calls but not quality calls.
