Many financial experts (here!) believe that the present stock market is an illusion
a carrot driven by the deceptive and scam artists of the Federal Reserve. The market
will collapse in spite of there magic late this fall and in 2015 (another Shemittah)
the actual collapse of the American economy (that will not set well with our mortage holder
China (must we now eat dog?) Anyway, as the lies about the "real" debt plays us for
suckers of affluencia disease that makes us fools ,we discover (too late) that the national
debt is 80 trillion !!!! (once projected with entitlements, interest and fraud) So with
that rant of wisdom I share with the cluless lets "prepare" change the locks, buy
emergency food, Seyschell water filters, one shotgun and a 9 mm with a lock box.
prepare for marshall law, anarchy, looting, being hunted for your stuff (food not
worthless money). If I'm wrong..........nevermind

Not an economist on your list that I could find. An historian, some religious promoters, some I consider entertainers more than anything else, and one with a name so common I am not sure who you are referring to.

Some stocks are truly over valued, I believe, but there is nothing illusional about the profit generated by many stocks that are publicly listed. Unless you believe that money itself is an illusion.

I remember that as the financial markets really were engaged in panic during the early fall of 2008 there were lots of lunatics predicting some kind of armageddon. I got a real kick suggesting that folks stockup on firearms and such.

Meanwhile I bought the undervalued stocks and have done pretty darn well, way better than any short sellers over the same period.

The OP and others like 'em can retreat to their bunkers with their homemade bullets and freeze dried food, as for me I'll keep my subscription to IBD...

China doesn't have that much of our debt, there are few experts on anything here at CD (lots of great amature advice, but not too many paid professionals who are experts in their field), and the people that drum up the need to horde and the ones seeling hordeables...

Is it good to have food reserves, yes. But because you are scared of economic collapse, not as likely as a storm, earthquake or some other event that temporarily interrupts good or fuel supplies.

and we have a winner-answer!! good post!!

since perception is reality,

this is my prediction

the stock market is inflated, because "reality" has been post-poned

the media has circled the wagons so much with this administration - they shouldn't have ANY credibility left whatsoever - but here's what's going to happen

a republican will win the presidency, and then all the sudden reality will set in,,,and the media will not protect, but impune this president....and there will be a constant drumbeat of doom & gloom on the nightly news - that will scare the hell out of the public -even if it is better than it is now- it doesn't matter, its perception of the liberal media
