I asked a business if they would do a little bit of work for me and the guy saw my work and asked if I'd like a job. I said, no you'd not want to hire me since I don't have a wide variety of skills, but he said look you say that why, you have mad skills.
Do you think this guy was serious about hiring me?
You haven't given us enough information to make anything beyond a WAG. Except I'd think the average person doesn't go around offering another person a job just to fake him out. So, it could well be legit.
Make sure the business is financially sound and on the up-and-up. People who have no intention of paying are often effusive and charming. It is part of the schtick.

If legitimate, start with a PT gig on YOUR TERMS. You might be able to work out a sweet deal, or find a great job or business opportunity.
Do be careful for the 'schtick' operators / owners who skim off the valuable resources of others to feather their own cap and wallet.. If you like and are good at what you do. Capitalize on that so you can be 'set free' earlier in life!
