Does anyone know the requirements for starting a Non medical companion care business in the state of Texas? Private pay only. I do not want to bill medicare/medicaid at this time? Do I need to register with Health and Human Services in order to do this?

Like going over a few hours a week and keeping the elderly company? Maybe reading to them or playing cards with them?

Why don't you call them and ask. My experience is that anything the state can charge you a license for, they make it exceedingly easy for you to find the information and apply.
