Is there any way to view US Company Information On-Line. (bankrupt, register)

I was wondering if the US had company information and accounts on-line on any website.

In the UK I use the Companies House site to view companies and company officers and can view previous liquidations and bankruptcies etc.

I was wondering is there was a similar site in the US or any where on line that I could do this in relation to US companies.

The secretary of state of each US state keeps information on all companies registered in the state. But not all allow you to find information on line.

Google "secretary of XXXX" and "corporate database" and it will help get you started.
