Set to happen in a couple hours, Jerry will be back in town in the driver's seat. Do you plan to watch it?

The Sacbee will have host the live event: http://www.sacbee.com/live/

Just in time for Governor Moonbeam’s inauguration

It should be an interesting year to say the least.

Derek

I would, out of interest and chuckles but unfortunately, I'll be taking my wife to a dental appointment. Maybe I can get a re-broadcast online from the California Channel or elsewhere.

Since my wife also worked in politics and legislation for the state, we had some good conversations this morning about what we'd be doing this year if we were still in those positions. Both of us worked in policy areas in which he's proposing massive changes. Mostly we'd be getting worked to death over those proposals, beaten liberally over the head and shoulders by advocates and laughed out of legislative committees while testifying. We both agreed we're better off watching the kabuki from afar.

The union owns Jerry.
Jerry never worked a day in his life at a real job in the real world.

I lean to the belief that we are in a world of hurt as a state with this jewel of colossal ignorance at the helm.
Bend over, here come the taxes and more taxes.

So what's the alternative?

He's already voiced a willingness to take on the unions and some major cuts. While I didn't really care for what he did back in the 70s and early 80s as Governor, had we still been in California last year we would have both voted for him. He's matured. He's gutsy. He's fiscally responsible. He has nothing to lose. He's experienced at a lot of levels and he just might have enough political capital to get something real done.

Well, he's now the Governator (spelling deliberate)! Bye bye Ahnold (and good riddance).
