I am thinking driving to a metro station for parking, taking the train, and walking to the office on hope street. Having to take buses is a deal-breaker.

You people are about the most humorless forum people I have ever listened to paint dry to.

You would have to drive pretty far north (green line) or northeast (blue line) to get to a metro station from Torrance.

Check out the metro silver line that runs along the 110 freeway carpool/toll lanes.. Its not a train, but definitely efficient.

When I read - Having to take buses would be a deal breaker - I had to laugh. So, you see I'm not humorless. I don't know where you live in Torrance but you would either have to take the Greenline to the Blueline or go all the way to Long Beach and park and take the Blue line from there. And if you think you don't want to take a bus then you won't like the Blue Line either. It's as crowded, stinky, and noisy, as any bus you could take, more so actually. And there are sometimes very unruly people riding the Blue Line. Not that most buses are always crowded, stinky or noisy, they're not. And sometimes riding the Blue Line is a lot more tolerable than other times.

Like BRinSM suggested you can take the Silver Line. Torrance even has a bus that goes into downtown Los Angeles. But as someone who very frequently rides both buses and trains the people who ride them are all pretty much the same. The trains and express buses don't take as long as local buses, to me that is the only difference.

Give it a try a time or two. You might even end up liking it. Well, most of the time anyway.

Why is taking buses a deal-breaker?

I would take the buses that use the Silver Line. Those express buses are pretty fast. Otherwise, good luck.
