Well how long are you looking to rent for? Is this just for a vacation? AirBnB is pretty simple, you obviously need to communicate with the host and describe yourself. But it's easy to get a place on there from long distance.

I'm thinking of using a youth hostel at 61 and 62 years young , but if you can't live barrage style it's not
going to work for you.
