Now that it's winter, lets see your California shots. Here's a few since yesterday along the Central Coast. Took a hike today in the forest overlooking the ocean. Beautiful day in the low 70s.

Beautiful, as always! I especially like the first two. California bay views are always dreamy.

72 in December didn't used to be normal.

Ruth, we were hiking up around Jack's peak and met a guy out visiting family from Milwaukee. By contrast, the high has been hovering ~ 32 there lately. Its more like low 60s all week here. But today got warmer near the peak while in the sun. Fortunately, there's plenty of shade along the trail to keep things cool.

Regarding bay views, yes, I'll never tire of them. There aren't too many other places you can hike up peaks into pines and redwoods while looking out over the ocean.

We were at Laguna Beach yesterday. It was completely overcast and grey with little surf, 62F...still beautiful, but bleak.

I don’t get it. It’s December. Where’s the snow and black ice? Cars in ditches?

Beautiful photos Derek. It's been a mild winter this year. Today in 1990, the temperature in my area was 22°F. Water pipes broke at the house. I'm enjoying this year.

I personally don't think this year is especially mild. I've seen many years warmer than this. This seems more or less average to me. I remember 1990 though. All-time coldest temperatures ever recorded in the state. Hopefully won't see that again in our lifetime.
