I am not a lawyer but sharing my experiences.

I grew up around the car business and there would be young sailors from Alameda Naval Air that would come in to buy.

Basic is a contract with a minor is not enforceable UNLESS it is for the necessities of life OR the minor is emancipated and yes... we did get emancipated minors serving in the military.

Another concern is what if the minor caused injury or property damage and it came back to you?

Precede with caution.

By the way, I bought my first car at age 12 with money I had earned and paid $1000 for a Model A Ford that was not running!

Also... my understanding of Necessities of Life are Food, Shelter, Clothing... and not vehicles.
