P.S. If you are going to Yosemite, make hotel reservations ASAP. The options in the park book up very quickly.

Also OP, keep in mind Yosemite can still be pretty darn cold in April.

OP, not knowing your true interests makes it a little to advise but I can think of a couple of places I have visited that I would suggest others see as well. Forget downtown LA. Disney and Universal studios are typical tourist attractions but shouldn't be missed. They I think I would head north to the bay area with a stop at the Reagan library. It is beautiful, the setting lovely and one of the nicest of the libraries we have seen and we have seen quite a few. the rest of your time would be well spent in San Francisco. Yes, Monterey and Carmel are lovely but you are trying to squeeze a lot into 6 days. I would leave that for another time.
