wow Arizona and Nevada are very popular. If I had the money I'd buy investment property there. They are probably going to start hating Californians like Oregon does...

Eeech! Too many "Idaho" mentions. But I'm on the list too. Bailed from Los Angeles county upon retirement.

Interesting that the in-state migration is within the same region. Southern Californians tend to migrate to other Southern Californian counties; and the same for NorCal.

I'm guessing many of the people looking to move to Nevada are moving to the greater Vegas area. It's surprising how similar some parts of Vegas/Henderson look like Orange County. You can really see the California influence...

Interesting, seems that everyone still wants to live in the west and are willing to live in the extreme heat like Arizona, Texas and Nevada.

In my area half the people here are from the Bay Area. Sell your place for a million and buy the same size place with a 5 acre lot for a third.

... and you probably put up with far less traffic, pollution, noise, and the people are much friendlier.

Rural/small town California is where it's at.

I moved out of California in 2008, but came back in 2011. I went to the midwest, and while generally enjoyed it, missed my family, the weather, the beaches and my friends.

About once a week I get on Realtor.com and look at homes in other states. Always amazing to see how far your money will go in another location. But home is where the heart is, and mine will always be here in California.
