Funny how ppl blame the governor for the rampant shoplifting when the voters themselves voted for the law that reduced the criminal penalties! They should look in the mirror

There are efforts to repeal that law, and in fact, there's a coalition of "law and order" Democrats in California working on this. Nevertheless, there are more factors at work in causing shoplifting, as there are even looser penalties in Texas, Arizona, and some other states I can't remember, and they don't have those problems.

Those are open carry states and people protect their property. I know someone that works at a Walmart in a red state and they have employees at all the exits checking receipts when people leave with unbagged items also I wouldn’t try to steal anything from small businesses like a Ace hardware if you value your life.

Newsom was an advocate for 47. He a huge part of the problem

Gavin revealed his elite status, the eventual goal of the socialists now in charge. The elite and and the worker bees. No criticism or argument allowed! Any opposition will be denigrated and crushed!

NewsomE must be alien to life in CA. Add the last E for, 'elitist'.

Someone needs to tell him the hard truth that no one has put that much product in their hair since 1988.

If I ever meet Newsome in person, I'd ask for a selfie too. I mean, how often is one likely to be in the presence of one of the dumbest people to every walk this earth?

I just love it when he asked himself,

"Hmm I was like. Why do I have to pay $380 and everybody just walks the hell out "

Lol

The California politicians that threw in the clause with $950 threshold for theft before serious consequences can kick in about a decade or so ago are to blame. Newsom is simply enabling his progressive base.

Any business should tell it's employees to avoid talking politics not just Target.
