You need to give us more detail in what type of environment you like.

Well, the kind of environment I like is one where there is a good nightlife and good opportunities to meet people of different races. I'd love an area with a decent size hispanic, or Indian population. I love the beach but I'd be willing to travel to get there on occasion cause I'm sure its more expensive close to the beach. So like I said, an area that would be good for a single man to meet new people with a preference toward Hispanics or Indians :-) hope this helps some. Thanks

YOu can live in San Fran with that - use a bike or BART if you need to get around. You don't NEED a car in the city.

37K is not that much - but you'll do okay, you might need to get a rental place with some roommates

Otherwise it's got everything you want

I would say Long Beach. The downtown area, Belmont Shore.

Isn't Long Beach where all those 1990's gangster rappers were from? It didn't look like a very ideal place from those Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg videos I remember seeing on MTV as a kid.
