We've driven it 5 times now, and have yet to have the perfect trip, where we're happy with every campground we have stayed at. This year I'm doing more research and compiled a list of favorites, as well as some recommended by others. Here's my list ( ** means we've personally stayed there ). Please add your favorites, or criticize mine!

Sourdough Campground (Tok) **
Dawson's Peak Resort (Teslin, YT) **
Liard River Provincial Park, YT
Northern Rockies Lodge, Muncho Lake, BC
Muncho Lake Provincial Park, BC
Coal River RV, BC **
Tetsa River Regional Park, BC
Sikanni Chief River, BC
Rotary RV Park, Charlie Lake, BC **

BEYOND the highway:
Williamson Provincial Park, Calais, AB
Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park, Woodlands County, AB
Ook Shell Oole, Shelby, MT **

And I should also mention that we are tent camping

If you are planning on staying in Muncho Lake (which I highly recommend as it's beautiful!), and are planning on tenting there are a couple of good options.

If you are needing just dry camping ie. no hook ups or power then one of the provincial campsites will do you just fine. However, if you are in need of hook ups I recommend Muncho Lake Campground at the far north end of the lake. They have a bunch of campsites located right near the water and the sites are always clean.

If you are looking for breakfast or fresh homemade bread, I would recommend Double G at the far south end of the lake. It's just a small cafe but the food is wonderful!

If you are camping in a popular spot like Muncho Lake, don't get their late in the day our you'll find the campgrounds full.
